Exclusively made for Bella Luna Toys, using the original design and pattern created by Trish Mooney, these genuine Heavy Baby™ natural fiber dolls are  created entirely by hand by our skilled doll maker so that each one is completely individual.

These beautiful weighted dolls are filled with organic, lavender-scented millet and wool stuffing and promote a sense of calm and nervous system regulation when placed in a lap or held. The wool stuffing warms up the longer a child holds the baby, creating a nourishing sensory experience. For children who need the experience of "lugging," Heavy Baby provides extra sensory attention.

Designed in Germany in 1919 and known as "millet dolls," or "sensory babies," these dolls were created to simulate holding a real baby, therefore encouraging empathy, reverence, and nurturing in young children. 

The simply embroidered facial features and distinguishing shaped head are characteristic of Waldorf Dolls and allow for children's imaginations to set the emotion of the baby and encourage creativity during play.
