Lovingly made by our skilled doll-maker, these genuine Heavy Baby™ natural fiber dolls are made exclusively for Bella Luna Toys from the original design and pattern created by Trish Mooney. Each doll is created entirely by hand so that every one is completely individual with slightly varying dimensions.

Designed in Germany in 1919 and known as "millet dolls," or "sensory babies," these beautiful weighted dolls are filled with organic, lavender-scented millet and promote a sense of calm and nervous system regulation when placed in a lap or held.

The wool stuffing warms up the longer a child holds the baby, creating an even deeper sensory experience. The weight simulates holding a real baby which encourages empathy, reverence, and nurturing. For children who need the experience of "lugging," Heavy Baby is just right and provides extra sensory attention.
